I fell in love with incredible, vibrant colors of the fall leaves after moving back to the upper Midwest last year.
My 2 little boys and I spent hours on nature walks filling our pockets with leaves, acorns and pinecones until the point I decided I really needed brush off my artistic skills and create something with these already stunning, natural pieces of God's handiwork.
It began with pressing the leaves and learning to preserve them, and then led to doodling and creating designs in between their veins or playing off their shape. Then one day, I had the idea to create some drawings and incorporate the vibrant leaves into one of kind nature collages.
After their creation, I realized I needed a simple frame that wouldn't take away from the leave's beauty. I began to design frames out of FSC certified/ sustainably sourced plywood and acrylic sheets. It took some practice to perfect them, but they add the perfect modern yet rustic backdrop to my pieces, and they can accommodate any size and texture I create! Best of all, with their magnetic cover, it is incredibly simple to change out the art/photos when your ready to do display something new.
I love incorporating bright and vibrant colors with natural elements but also enjoy the simplicity of nature itself and the use of neutral tones. I love to create meaningful custom pieces by incorporating names or portraits of people or pets into any of my pieces.
My hope for my art is to bring a little piece of nature's beauty into your home, or to provide you with frames to display the beautiful art, photos and stories of your life.
